We gather to honor and celebrate the remarkable life of Tremayne Darnell Gross, affectionately known as Trey and Gross to some, who was born on November 22, 2000, in Washington, District of Columbia. Tremayne, a funny, dedicated, loving, and ambitious soul, left us on July 6, 2025, leaving an unfillable void in our hearts. Tremayne was a glue that held many friendships together, a hard-headed big baby with a heart full of love, and a devotion that made him the cornerstone of his family.
Tremayne's ambitions led him on an inspiring journey in the field of education and work. He was a proud high school graduate who further achieved his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. His path led him to serve the community as a Campus Police Officer at Catholic University, where he was adored and respected by both colleagues and students. However, it was not all work for Tremayne. He was an avid sports enthusiast, both as a player and spectator. His love for sports earned him the AU MVP Award and a cherished spot in the Varsity Football at Ballou Senior High School. His zest for life was evident in his hobbies, which included cooking and hanging out with his butt buddies, creating memories that will now be treasured forever.
As a devout Baptist, Tremayne believed wholeheartedly that God had the last word. His faith was his guiding light, and he lived by the verse, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6). Tremayne's love for his family was paramount, and he was the epitome of a dedicated son, loving brother, and loyal friend. His life was a testament to his favorite phrase, "Family matters the most."
