Novalene Garrett

Novalene Elaine Garrett affectionately know as “N.O” departed this earthly life and entered into enteral rest on Thursday March 24th 2022 at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington DC.

Novalene was born March 23, 1956 at Columbia Hospital for Women in Washington DC to Shirley Boone and the late Lonnie Boone.

Novalene attended PG County Public Schools and graduated from Fairmont Heights High School. Novalene later furthered her education in Washington DC graduating and obtaining her Associates Degree in Business Management from Southeastern University where she also worked as the bookstore manager.

Novalene was such a beautiful spirit she enjoyed crocheting, listening to her oldies, gossiping on the phone with her sisters, talking to her mom and spending time with her kids and her granddaughter. Novalene loved to pray for everyone and left a great impact on the lives of many.

Novalene leaves to cherish her memory her mother Shirley Boone her daughter Yvonna Garrett(Jamal) her son William Garrett her granddaughter Aniyah Garrett her three sisters Marlene Jenkins , Tammie Brown(Nelson) Carrie Rainey(Donnell) Her brother Lonnie Boone Jr. 2 aunts Emma Cannon and Marcia Jones, 1 uncle Loyd Monman. Her two favorite cousins Linda Murphy & Shirley Randolph. Her two godchildren Allen Boone & Danielle Griffin. And a host of niece nephews and relatives.

She shared a special bond with her niece Tomekia Farmer and her 3 great nieces Cheeks Yams and Teeni.

Novalene was preceded in death by her father Lonnie Boone Sr., husband William Garrett, sister Shirlene Jones, daughter Chanika Garrett her grandmother’s Lillian Booker and Carrie Sykes, her Granddaughter Ariyen Kinney and a special friend Kenneth Johnson.
