Linda J. Davis

–

Washington, District of Columbia

With deep sorrow, we announce the departure of our beloved Linda J. Davis, who gently passed away on October 9, 2026. Born in Washington D.C., on March 7, 1964, Linda was a compassionate soul who loved her hometown and spent her entire life there, contributing to its community with her generosity and unwavering faith. Linda was a dedicated mail carrier for the USPS for many years, a job she took great pride in. Despite her eventual retirement, Linda remained a loyal and resilient pillar of her community, always eager to help those around her.

Linda’s heart was as expansive as her smile. Her love for her family knew no bounds, and she was happiest when surrounded by her loved ones. She treasured her mother, Bertha Davis, her daughter Vanessa Bowman, sons Ricardo Dobbs and David Jr, her beloved grandchildren Dax Ashton and Reagan Dobbs, and her siblings Joyce Alston, Clyde Jr, and Steven Sr. Linda was predeceased by her father, Clyde Davis, Sr., and her sister, Emma Davis.

Linda's faith was the cornerstone of her life, and her devotion to her church was unwavering. Even in her final days, when her health began to decline, Linda participated in church services by phone and video, exemplifying the verse, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Philippians 4:13). Her hobbies reflected her benevolent spirit; she cherished spending time with her family and regularly served food at the women's shelter with her dear friend, Sheryl.

As we mourn the loss of this generous, loyal, compassionate, and resilient woman, we also celebrate the life she lived and the love she shared. Please join us in remembering Linda by sharing your memories and uploading photos of her on the memorial page.
