Lettice Hardaway Obituary (1970 - 2024) - Washington, District of Columbia

Lettice Johnson-Hardaway, fondly known as “Tice” was born April 29, 1970 in Washington, D.C. to the late Gary Johnson. She suddenly departed this life on June 6, 2024 at Washington Hospital Center. Lettice grew up in SE Washington, D.C. (Parkchester), where she attended Birney Elementary School. She later graduated from Eastern High School in 1989. After graduating high school, Lettice started her career in retail that lasted over 30 years. In June of 2009, after many years of friendship, Lettice married Tracy Hardaway. From that union they share one daughter, Kendall. Lettice was known for her welcoming smile, always rocking the cutest hairstyles, her great sense of fashion and her one-of-a-kind sayings. She loved to travel and meet new people. Lettice was an avid reader and loved to cook and bake. She was always trying out new recipes. For those that knew her, she was a straight shooter and you never had to guess how she felt. Often, she was so direct and blunt, you couldn’t help but to just laugh. Lettice will be forever missed and forever loved. Lettice leaves to cherish her memory, Kendall Hardaway (Daughter), Tracy Hardaway, Minnie Cooper (Mother-in-Law), Tanya Farrington (Cousin), Cynthia Charles (Cousin), Darrell Dickerson (Cousin), numerous cousins, aunts, other relatives and close friends. Lettice is preceded in death by her father Gary, Lois Dickerson (Aunt), Virgelia LeRoy (Grandmother) and Terrence Dickerson (Cousin).
