On Thursday, April 3, 2025, James Allen Malry affectionately known as Jimmy, beloved son of the late James Malry and Christine Tremble-Malry, departed his earthly life and gained eternal peace.
Born on January 14, 1960, in Washington, D.C., Jimmy was educated in the city’s public school system. He was always on his laptop, researching new opportunities and offering advice to anyone who sought it. His passionate love for his family was matched only by his enthusiasm for the Washington Commanders and NASCAR racing. Jimmy’s zest for life was truly beyond compare, and he lived every moment on his own terms.
Jimmy’s life was a testament to hustle, grit, and unwavering determination. His entrepreneurial journey took him across a wide range of ventures, each fueled by his relentless commitment to succeed. In his early years, he launched a cellular phone rental service and later founded Auto Aquarium, a premium car detailing business known for its excellence and reliability.
He eventually expanded this prized possession into Mobil 1, that operated in both Washington, D.C., and Statesboro, Georgia—bringing convenience and quality directly to his customers. His passion for growth later led him into the world of real estate, where he embraced new challenges and gained valuable experience. Through every chapter, Jimmy brought the same drive, energy, and heart—finding fulfillment not only in the work itself, but in the joy it allowed him to share with those he loved.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, James and Christine Tremble-Malry, and two of his brothers, Maurice Tremble and Stewart Malry. He is survived by his wife, Nikoya Marly, whom he married on September 9, 1995. Jimmy fathered 6 beautiful children with whom he adored: Janae Malry, Anthony Walker, James Malry Jr, Jevonte Malry, Juwan Malry, and Jordyn Malry. He was also a proud grandfather of 7 grandchildren: Aries Hammond, Autumn Hammond, Tristan Walker, Journee Malry, Mateo Malry, Mason Malry, and Mailyn Malry.
His extended family includes his sisters Frances Malry, Latrease Smith (Earl), brother Darren Malry (Nicole), bonus brother Reginald Williamson (Diane), father-in-law Thomas Rose, mother-in-law Ruthenia Rose, sister-in-law Dayna Harris (Curtis), and brother-in-law Thomas Rose Jr., along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. His memory will forever remain etched in our hearts
We invite all who knew and loved Jimmy to share their memories and upload photos on his memorial page. Your stories and pictures will serve as a beautiful testament to his life and will provide comfort and solace during this challenging time.
