\nDavon Nathan Childs affectionally known as Day Day was born on June 29, 1987 to the late Regina Miller and David Childs, Sr. He was the loving baby brother of five siblings. God in his infinite wisdom removed him from earthly labor to eternal rest on December 10, 2021.\n\nDavon was a loving and devoted father to his two children Elijah and Alai’jah, his children meant everything to him. He had a tight bond with his son, affectionally known by him as Son Son. Elijah was his shadow! Davon educated him in everything he knew about sports. He also had the same bond with his daughter, affectionally known by him as Stinky Butt. She was his fat baby and Davon knew how to make her smile. He taught his children morals, values along with the fundamentals of life.\n\nHe accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Landover Memorial Baptist Church. He was educated in the Prince Georges County and DC Public School systems. Davon was a steadfast sports enthusiast. His favorite athlete was Kobe Bryant. His favorite football team was Dallas Cowboys. He always looked forward to watching Cowboys play against the Redskins. You could ask him any question with regards to any sport and he had an answer. His closest cousin Quinton would constantly tell him that he should have been a sports commentator. He also played sports with the Boys and Girls Club in Prince Georges County.\n\nGrowing up, Davon home was always filled with music. He loved to dance and have a great time. This is how his passion for music blossomed. His favorite performers were Lil Wayne and Kevin Gates. His job at IHOP is where he developed his culinary skills. He loved to cook and have a good time with his family and friends. Davon had a great sense of humor. He was charming and funny and had no trouble speaking his mind. He also had an eye for fashion. He loved being well-dressed from head to toe. He had a beautiful soul with a heart of gold and forgiveness.\n\nDavon Nathan Childs' absence will leave a tremendous void in our lives. He is survived by to cherish his memory: Son, Elijah and Daughter, Alai'jah; Devoted mother of his children Katrina. Sisters: Tyrinda (Ryan Sr); Danika and Davena; Brothers: Carlos and David Jr. Father: David Sr and preceded in death mother, Regina Miller; Maternal Grandparents: Florine and Samuel Miller(deceased) and Paternal Grandparents: Rosalee Childs(deceased) and James Childs(deceased): Godmother, Armella Blake(deceased) and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.
