We are gathered here today in memory of our beloved Beverly Snowden\n \nOBITUARY\n1957 Beverly Snowden 2023\n \n \nOn July 4th, 2023, Beverly was called to eternal rest to rejoice with her loved ones. Beverly, affectionately known as “Big B”, was born on July 17th, 1957, in Washington, D.C. to the late William and Edith Snowden. She suddenly transitioned from this earth to glory on Tuesday, July 4th, 2023, after a courageous battle with multiple sclerosis, she was surrounded by her children and loved ones who will continue to honor her legacy.\n \nRemembering Beverly\n \nBeverly received her education in the District of Columbia Public School System in Washington D.C. She was the ninth child of ten children. Beverly valued her brothers and sisters and enjoyed spending time with them. She especially loved being the boss of her younger brother Tyrone. Beverly enjoyed music, dancing, and cooking. Some of her delicious dishes included: Pepper steak, Beef Bar B Que Spareribs, Bar B Que Meatballs, and Baked Beans. If you stepped foot inside Big B’s kitchen you had to know what you were doing. She was going to put you to the test and had no problem with letting you know if the food that you cooked for her was good or terrible! Beverly was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved spending quality time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the light of her life, and she was their protector.\n \nBeverly’s loving support for her family was unconditional. You could call or come to her home any time of the day or night. Her door was always open, and she never turned you away. Beverly loved the children and all the children in her family would flock to her. To know Beverly was to love her. She was direct and didn’t mind telling you like it is by utilizing a few choice words of her own.\n \nShe leaves to cherish behind in memories her five children; Keith, Monique, Melvin, Varnita, and Kelvin; nine grandchildren: DaAndre, Devone, Rakiah, Mekhi, Derell, Devonte, Patrick, Dorian, and Taylor; one great-granddaughter; Ava her beloved sister, Diane Snowden; two brothers: Lawrence Snowden and Ronald Snowden; two sister-in-law’s; Paulette Snowden and Wauline Snowden; one daughter-in-law Alia; one granddaughter-in-law; Kenya; a very special friend, Kathy, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. \n \nBeverly was preceded in death by her grandchild, Nicholas Snowden; her parents William and Edith Snowden; her brothers Ernest Snowden, William Snowden Jr., Kenneth Snowden, and Tyrone Snowden; her sisters Brenda Jefferson-Robinson and Jaqueline Snowden. Beverly will be missed and forever in our hearts.
