Fort Washington, Maryland
Angela Marie Lewis, beloved mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother, went home to be with the Lord on September 24, 2024, at the age of 65. Born on June 5, 1959, in Washington, D.C., to William and Ophelia Ford, both of whom preceded her in death, Angela is now joyfully reunited with her late husband, Michael Lewis, whom she deeply missed.
Angela is survived by her two devoted sons, Michael (LaTanvia) and Derreck Lewis, her loving sisters, Theresa Young (Gregory) and Regina Ford; her cherished niece, Latasha Senior; her treasured grandchildren, Aaliyah and John Lewis, along with a host of other family and friends. Her family was her greatest pride and joy, and she poured her heart into each relationship, offering wisdom, support, and unconditional love.
For more than 30 years, Angela served the federal government with dedication and integrity. Outside of her professional life, she embraced her creativity through arts and crafts, singing, and hosting family gatherings. A passionate Commanders football fan, she never missed an opportunity to cheer for her favorite team, filling her home with the spirit of friendly competition.
Faith was the cornerstone of Angela’s life. A devoted follower of Jesus Christ, she faithfully served at Forest Heights Baptist Church until her passing. Before God called her home she was the facilitator of the Women’s Bible Study. Her loving presence and leadership touched countless lives, as she guided others into a deeper relationship with Christ. Angela's unwavering trust in the Lord sustained her throughout her life, and her resilience and strength were an inspiration to all who knew her.
Angela will always be remembered for her radiant smile, compassionate spirit, and welcoming heart. Her love for her family, friends, and faith community knew no bounds. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and steadfast faith will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
